A
- Alcohol: Alcohol and narcotics are strictly prohibited for all participants, including leaders. Scouts and leaders breaking these rules will immediately be sent home at their own expense. Smoking is only allowed in designated areas.
- Allergies: Food allergies must be declared in the registration form for each participant before the camp. We will do our best to accommodate the most common food allergies, but we need your help with the more unusual ones. Please make sure to bring your own medicine for other allergies.
- Away mission: See Hike

- Badges: Badge swapping is a popular activity at scout camps. You should bring some badges for swapping.
- Bathing: See swimming

- Cars: see parking
- CapCom: This is where you check in and out from away missions, it will be located the same place as the Kiosk.
- Camp book: All participants will get their camp book when they arrive.
- Camp badge: On arrival, all participants will get their Nordtreff camp badge. You can also get a special badge for doing a series of activities during the camp.
- Camp equipment: All scout troops must bring everything needed for a week on camp. All personal equipment (backpacks) must be carried from the bus parking (350m), but tents and other common equipment can be transported closer to the campsite.
- Campfire: There will be an opening campfire on Saturday, June 29th, and a closing campfire on Friday, July 5th.
- Coffee: Is a hug in a mug. There will be coffee served in SpaceBar and you get to make your own in camp. Bring your own mug to Spacebar to get coffee.
D
- Departure: Departure from camp is planned for Saturday, July 6. no later than 13:30. The camp will be rigged down from Saturday morning, and the latest planned meal is a packed lunch on Saturday at @12:00.
- Digging: You are not allowed to dig holes on the campsite.
- Drugs: Alcohol and narcotics are prohibited for all participants, including leaders. Scouts and leaders breaking these rules will immediately be sent home at their own expense. Smoking is only allowed in designated areas.

- Emergency: 113 is the medical emergency number in Norway. Alert 113 in case of serious emergencies and inform the camp staff / 1st aid station immediately afterward. The 1st aid station should always handle all non-critical emergencies!
- European Health Card: All non-Norwegian participants should bring this card. It gives you free access to all public sector health care in Norway. The card is free and can be ordered by the authorities.

- Fire prevention: All tents must have 1 (one) filled bucket with water outside the opening. We’re expecting you to bring your buckets, but please let us know if this is a (transport) problem. There should also be at least 1 fire extinguisher where propane, gas, or other burners are used. Never leave a fire unattended – someone should be there at all times!
- Fireplace: You are not allowed to make cooking and/or campfires at the campsite. You can bring a campfire pan, but a fire ban can be enforced on short notice because of the risk of forest fires.
- Firewood: Yes, we have firewood, but you might have to cut and chop it yourself.
- First aid: All troops must have their first aid equipment for minor injuries, headaches, etc. All patrols must bring their own basic first aid kit during the hike. There will also be a first aid station at the camp – look for the sick bay.
- Food allergies: See allergies
- Flags: There is only one flagpole on the campsite. We will raise the Nordtreff flag daily at 08:00. Please wear your scout uniform.
- Flight Director: Øystein is camp chief.

- Garbage: All garbage has to be sorted into the following fractions: Food/organic, glass/metal, paper, and waste (to be burned).

- Health form: All participants must complete a health form (sent to you before the camp starts). You’ll need to show the form for all scouts when checking in at Nordtreff, but it should be stored in your troop area. Please inform all your leaders of where they are kept. Please bring this form when visiting the first aid station (or hospital). Please inform Nordtreff about any special considerations we need to know beforehand (in the registration form). - Hammocks: Yes you can use your hammock to sleep or relax in, we even have some that are free to use for everyone. Please remember to use treehuggers to protect the trees.
- Hand wash: There will be marked places for washing hands near the toilets. All other hand or body wash must take place at your campsite or in the lake. Please make sure that all scouts (and leaders) wash their hands after visiting the toilets and before every meal. Rubbing alcohol can also be used for disinfection.
- Hike: There will be a 24-hour hike for the scouts and rovers. It will occur in the area around the camp area. The scouts should bring a shelter (tarp, gapahuk), a first aid kit, compas, and personal equipment (including a thermos bottle with room for at least 0.3l hot water pr. participant). No cooking equipment is required or allowed.
- Hospital: If we need to bring your scouts there, they should have some personal identification (passport or national ID) and preferably a European Health Card (not required for Norwegian citizens).

- Internet: There is no dedicated Wi-Fi for Internet access on the camp. However, there is good mobile coverage, with 4G and 5G services.

- JPL / Jet Propulsion Laboratory: The program department is responsible for – among other things – space capsules, away missions, and bottle rockets.
K
- Kiosk: There will be a kiosk open. You can buy candy, ice cream, sodas, etc. Maybe even some scout badges. Card only. We accept most debit and credit cards, both NFC and traditional “swipe”. The name of the kiosk is “Replicator”

- Leaders meeting: This will occur every day (except Tuesday) at 20:30 at the Chappel.
- Lost property: Lost and found property should be delivered (or retrieved) at CapCom / camp office.
M
- Mission Control: Main camp office
- Mobile phone: There is good cell coverage at Nordtangen. You can charge cell phones (and cameras) at the camp office, but a leader needs to bring them there for the scouts and rovers. Mobile phones are only used during the scout’s spare time, not during activities. Big-time “offenders” will get their phones confiscated – which can be retrieved by the leaders.
- Money: The camp kiosk accept most debit and credit cards. No cash. The currency in Norway is NOK.
- Mosquitos: Yes, they will be there. Bring mosquito repellents.

- Nature reserve: The campsite is located near a nature reserve/wetlands area. We are not allowed to dig, chop wood, or otherwise disturb the wetland area.

- Order, Law: Camp rules are to be followed at all times.
P
- Propane gas: Different connections form gas bottles in the Nordic countries. We do not have any spares to lend out, but we can help you buy some. Please get in touch with us at 2024@nordtreff.org before the camp to arrange this. Gas bottles can exchanged in the center close by.
- Patrols: All activities are based on the patrol system. We expect every patrol to have a patrol leader and a name. Please tell us how many patrols your troop has in the registration form or by sending us a mail to 2024@nordtreff.org
- Parking: There is limited parking near the campsite. Each group/country can only have one car at the camp. We will arrange parking 1,5 km away for other cars.

R
- Rafts/spars: There is a limited number of new rafts on the campsite, contact us to use them. These rafts are not to be cut, damaged, or used for firewood. There are som older spars, these can be cut, damaged and used for firewood, these will be marked as “old spars”
- Rain: We have ordered sunshine for the duration of the camp. But there will be rain, so plan accordingly.
- Replikator: See kiosk
S
- Sarlacc Pit: This is the only designated place for wastewater on the campsite. Only this place can be used as a grease trap. You are not allowed to dig your own Sarlacc Pit.
- Scout uniform: We always wear our scout shirt and scarf outside the camp area (except during the hike / away mission) and during “formal” gatherings like camp opening, campfires, and raising of the flag.
- Scout scarf: This is to be used at all times except when swimming, in the shower, or sleeping.
- Sickbay: This is where you find the first-aid officer on duty. The Kiosk is also close to this location.
- Smoking: Smoking is only allowed in the designated area.
- Space Bar: The place for all leaders and rovers to meet up in the evenings. Here you will find games, snacks, coffee and more.
- Soap: Please use biodegradable / eco firendly soap when taking a bath in the lake. If you don’t bring your own from home ,there are several brands are available in Norwegian supermarkets that can be used (Klar or Änglamark)
- Stealing: This is, of course, prohibited and will be reported to the police. Thieves will immediately be sent home at their own expense.
- Sun: As we haven’t ordered rain, be sure to use sunblock and protect your head.
- Swimming: Allowed outside of activities, only with a leader present and never alone.
T
- Tents: All tents should be placed so you can walk between them without tripping on the guywires (the strings that stabilize the tent).
- Ticks: There are ticks in Nordtangen and the surrounding area. Ticks can be bearers of Borelia. TBE (Tick Born Encephalitis) is very rare in this part of Norway
We recommend that you take some special precautionary measures:
All troops have to:- All scouts have to check themselves for ticks “all over” a minimum of once a day.
- Everyone should get help from a friend or leader to check their neck, hair (scalp), and back.
- All troops should bring special tick removers/pincers.
- Ticks like warm and moist places – carefully check your groin, armpits, and scalp.
- Some mosquito repellents also work on ticks.
- If you see a red ring around tick bites – contact the 1st aid station immediately.
- Toilets: There will be modern water closets, urinals, and privies. There will be soap and water and/or rubbing alcohol available near all toilets.
- T-shirt: All participants will get a T-shirt with the size specified in the registration. There will be some extra T-shirts for sale in the Kiosk on the last days of the camp.
- Trains: The trains will pass the camp several times each day, and it will make noices. It’s more quiet between 21:00 – 06:00.
- Train tracks: The train tracks and anything close to the track is strictly off limits. You are NOT allowed to be close to the train tracks, even by Norwegian law – not just Nordtreff camp laws.
- Train station: You are allowed to be here only if you shall use the train to get to or from the camp.
- Treehuggers: Scouts love trees, and we should take care not to hurt them. Use treehuggers when hanging your hammock. Hug a tree today!

- Water: The drinking water quality is very good. There will be several water taps on the campsite, but the nearest one might be some distance away. All troops must bring their water containers. Everyone should also bring personal water bottles. The water taps are TAPS; all washing (body, dishes, hands) and brushing teeth should not be done here.
