We have a designated trained staff responsible for first aid for the duration of the camp. The first aid cabin – sickbay – will be marked and is available 24 hours a day, with night staff on a sleeping watch.
We expect each group to deal with minor injuries, such as small cuts, burns and bruises. Larger injuries should be reported to first-aid staff, who, together with the group, will help and advise on further treatment. Any major injury should be reported directly to the emergency services by calling 113 and informing any camp staff who will aid in coordinating relief efforts.
Each group is responsible for having a basic first aid kit in their camp area and smaller kits for the patrols on the away missions/hikes. The first aid kit should include, at a minimum:
- Plasters/band-aid
- Sterile compress and gauze
- Burn treatments
- Sterile wound-cleaning such as alcohol-wipes
- Specialty plaster for blisters – gnagsårplaster, fixeringstape
In camp, you should also have five liters of clean water ready for cooling down burns.
Please note that each group needs a designated person to handle their scout’s private medication, as the staff are not trained. Each group also needs to have updated information about any allergies within the group. It is possible to store any medication that needs refrigeration at the first aid cabin.
We have designated beds / sleeping rooms indoor for people that needs a quiet and good place to sleep and relax. Contact the sickbay to get access to these areas.
